Katie Rutledge, Ed.D., is an educator, academic consultant, and college admissions advisor with more than 34 years of experience in K–12 and higher education. She holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) and certifications in Educational Leadership, Elementary Education, English/Language Arts, and Reading, along with a Reading Endorsement. Her career has included work as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, district instructional leader, adjunct instructor, and professional learning facilitator.
Dr. Rutledge helps students identify colleges that fit their interests and goals, strengthen their applications, and develop admissions essays that reflect their own experiences and aspirations. Her approach centers on helping each student communicate with clarity and confidence while preserving an authentic voice. Students she has advised have earned admission to Yale University, the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Southern California, the University of Georgia, Ole Miss, and colleges and universities throughout Florida.
She also guides graduate school applicants through personal statements, application essays, and academic portfolios. Her work with graduate students includes editing and coaching for master's theses and doctoral dissertations, helping scholars express complex ideas clearly and develop their academic writing.
Drawing on her background in literacy instruction, Dr. Rutledge also provides personalized SAT and ACT preparation. She uses students' learning needs and performance to guide instruction, supporting the reading and writing skills that contribute to college readiness and success in higher education.
